Ashtanga benefits are physical, emotional, mental and intellectual. The physical benefit is freedom of disease; Ashtanga makes the body light and strong. Body absorbs and retains prana, which extends the life span. Emotional benefit is to be able to remain the witness, be able to not to identify oneself with any situation or condition; nothing. As emotions are not real, they are past; whenever we are feeling, we are in the present. Ashtanga removes old conditioning; makes us feel intensely. Intellect is something that grows and evolves as opposed to consciousness which exists in an eternal state of perfection. How is ashtanga yoga practiced? Ashtanga yoga is dynamic and breath is its fundamental. Fluctuating, pulsating or oscillating of breath happens simultaneously with the movements of the mind. The practice of pranayama therefore is the study and exercise of one’s breath to a point where it is calmed and does not agitate the mind.

Various postures are used to become aware of all areas of the body. Where awareness goes there goes life force (breath). Chronic diseases are believed to develop where awareness is permanently lacking. Practisioner learns to breathe into all parts of the body, an act that is equivalent to evenly spreading the breath throughout the body.

Ashtanga uses actively both the abdomen and the thorax to breathe (thoraco-diaphragmatic breathing). Air is literally pumped out of the lungs. The aim is to breathe more deeply so as to increase vitality. The way to achieve this is not by inhaling as much as possible but by first exhaling completely in order to create space for the new inhalation.

By increasing the inhalation, the amount of oxygen supplied is increased. By increasing our exhalation toxins are exhaled; including mental, emotional, physical toxins, and environmental toxins. These toxins are held and stored in the body in unpalatable areas where there is only a small amount of oxygen, often around the joints or in adipose tissue. The build-up of these toxins- energetic dying of certain body areas- eventually leads to chronic disease. By breathing deeply, exhaling accumulated toxins and inhaling oxygen, the ashtanga practioner attempts to return the body to its original state of health.

Aku memulai dengan Predikat/Status Mu yang Ar-Rahman dan Ar-Rahiim.Salam untuk kita semua yang masih diberikan peluang hidup oleh Sang Pencipta untuk daya gunakan dengan baik semua yang Dia berikan kepada mahluknya.

Dalam tulisan kali ini saya ingin berbagi Fenomena kepada kita semua agar menjadi masukan yang bisa berguna. Topikalisasi kita kali ini adalah kata “Damai” dimana kata tersebut seakan-akan sudah mulai beranjak meninggalkan bumi yang Fana ini.Mengapa saya katakan demikian, sebab dalam perjalanan kehidupan manusia saat ini hampir nyaris sudah tidak lagi bersentuhan dengan kata tersebut,ironisnya lagi setiap tatanan kehidupan manusia dimuka bumi ini seakan-akan enggan untuk menciptakan sebuah Perdamaian, entah apa sebabnya,mungkinkah sudah hilangnya kata tersebut dari hidup ini? Atau mungkin sudah bosannya manusia untuk hidup harmonis selaras dengan alam ini? Atau mungkin manusia sudah tidak mau menyadari akan pentingnya sebuah Perdamaian dalam berjalannya kehidupan ini? Atau kebanyakan manusia memang tidak pernah Mengetahui, Mengerti, Memahami kata Perdamaian tersebut? Yang jelas bahwa kehidupan manusia saat ini sangat membutuhkan point tersebut. Damai adalah sebuah kata benda yang sangat simple praktis namun mengapa tidak mudah manusia untuk mencapainya,apalagi bila kita tambahkan imbuhan menjadi Perdamaian maka akan menjadi tambah sulitlah kita untuk menciptakannya. Banyak faktor mengapa manusia sulit untuk bisa selaras harmonis dalam kehidupan yang hanya sementara bak terminal untuk menuju kehidupan yang lebih abadi dan pasti. Sebenarnya sedikit sudah terjawab mengapa manusia susah untuk menciptakan Perdamaian, dua kata yang ada diatas bisa dijadikan acuan untuk menciptakan kondisi Damai, Selaras dan Harmonis itulah kata yang menjadi acuan bila kita ingin menciptakan situasi dan kondisi yang Damai. Saya yakin kita semua pasti tahu arti atau definisi dari kedua kata tersebut, namun saya akan mentakrifi sedikit kedua kata tersebut. Selaras bisa juga di identikan dengan kata sejalan yang artinya sama berjalan dan jalan bersama, ini adalah merupakan hasil dari kerja sama yang baik dalam pengetahuan maupun terapan kesimpulannya adalah satu kesatuan yang sudah tidak bisa terpisahkan, selaras juga merupakan konsekwensi implementasi dari Harmonisasi. Harmonis sebenarnya adalah jawaban substansial dari selaras tentu tidak bisa kedua kata tersebut kita jauhkan sebab keharrmonisan itu bermainnya dalam diri manusia yang lebih bersifat substansial. Kebanyakan pakar bahasa mengartikan kedua kata tersebut sama, namun bagi saya kedua kata tersebut memiliki perbedaan dan itu pun tinggal tergantung anda untuk membedakan ataupun menyamakannya. Maka dari definisi tersebut kita bisa mendapat pelajaran untuk dijadikan acuan dalam menciptakan Perdamaian. Jawaban simpelnya kalau kita ingin situasi dan kondisi yang damai, maka jadikanlah watak dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari terlebih dahulu, sebelum segala sesuatunya akan kita jadikan target ataupun tujuan, sebab hanya dengan mengenalnya hingga menjadi watak itu jauh lebih baik dari pada sekedar berbasa-basi dan hanya sebatas seremoni. Hampir tidak ada alasan kita untuk mengatakan sulit menciptakan Perdamaian, itu pun kalau memang benar manusianya sudah menyadari, sebab banyak sekali kendala yang bisa menjadikan segala sesuatunya tidak Damai, saya ambil contoh Pengakuan, dalam arti mau untuk mengakui kelebihan dan kekurangan seseorang yang memang pantas untuk diakui, kita ambil contoh yang paling mendasar. Adam dan Syaitan, kedua nama atau tokoh tersebut sudah sangat di kenal oleh manusia di seluruh alam ini. Saya yakin semua kita tahu yang menjadi pokok persoalan antara Adam dengan Syaitan. Bisa kita lihat di Al Qur’an surat Al A’raaf ayat 11 sampai dengan 13. Persoalannya hanya masalah Pengakuan yang tidak tepat Porsi dan Proporsinya. Allah berkata kepada Malaikat akan menciptakan Adam,namun belum selesai Allah berkata ehh, ada yang bersuara timpang dan sangat mengejutkan Malaikat, Never! alias “tidak akan pernah aku mau sujud, mengakui Adam, sebab aku merasa lebih baik dari padanya”. Wow…jelas kalimat Iblis sangat tidak selaras dan harmonis dengan situasai dan kondisi saat itu. Maaf saya tidak akan memaparkan secara detail, kalau ingin silahkan baca sendiri. Maka penjelasan ayat tersebut bisa membuat kita untuk menyadari/memahami lagi setiap segala sesuatu yang akan kita katakan sebelum kita jadikan sebuah tindakan. Sebenarnya sangat mudah sekali bila saja Egoisme/Egosentris manusia tidak menjadi dominansi dalam dirinya, selagi masih itu ada dalam diri manusia maka sulitlah Perdamaian bisa terwujud.

What IS a “Panic Attack”? It’s a good question.

These attacks are often referred to as an “anxiety attack.” So, it looks like a panic attack is just “extremely elevated” anxiety.

It’s been shown that anxiety is fear. Fear equals anxiety.

There are the normal, everyday anxieties that we all have. Thankfully, we don’t all have them all!

Some people are anxious about their job. Others are anxious about their “significant other.” Still others are anxious about what others think about them. (acceptance)

There are many things to be anxious about and your general anxiety level goes up and down regularly.

Occasionally, it ramps up so high that it moves from anxiety to “anxiety attack” and that is the same thing as a panic attack.

We have determined that panic attacks are basically anxiety out of control. The whole thing is about fear. Remember, anxiety IS fear!

In this article I write about my personal experiences with depression and about how I have learnt to cope and to even eradicate it. I am sure that I am not alone in the fact that I have regular periods of my life when I am depressed, but knowing this fact does not make it any easier for me. I hope you enjoy reading the article.

I have recently spoken to my parents about the subject of my depression. My mother has said that she thinks we have some kind of depression gene as most of our family suffer from similar symptoms.

I have as recently as last week suffered with a severe bout of this depression, however from it I learnt a valuable lesson. I had been having a bad period in my life where seemingly everything was going wrong. It was one kick in the teeth after each other. I had nothing to look forward to and decided that I needed a night out with my friends. There was one intention that I had in mind which was to get as drunk as possible.

The next day I felt really ill and hungover after having a very late night and as planned a huge amount of alcohol. For the whole day I struggled to stay awake and as the day wore on I became more and more depressed. The negative side of my brain had taken over my whole head and it seemed like there was a whole bunch of negative chemicals running through my body.

The lesson I have learnt is that is not a good idea to go out drinking alcohol if you are feeling low and depressed.

When I was speaking to my parents about my latest period of anxiety and depression, they gave me some interesting and useful advice. They asked me to think about all of the things and aspects of my life that were getting me down. What I then needed to do was to talk about them and to think positive by attempting to find solutions to each of these problems.

This is not at all easy to do but is something I now try. I have realised that it is good to talk about our fears and phobias and that there is nothing wrong with admitting that you are stressed and depressed.

I hope I will not have to live with these regular bouts of depression for the rest of my life as I have to say I hate it, especially when it means I can not get any sleep during a night, which happens quite regularly for me. I will however look for more ways of beating my depression when it does occur.

I now try to think positive in all situations, life is far too short to be always worrying about everything. I have also started to read a lot of self-help books, these have taught me quite a lot of new things and have given me many new ideas.
